Who would have thought there was such an art to packing a suitcase but believe me there is! Try it like this if you want to maximise space and eliminate creased clothing items.

Start with packing your shoes at the bottom of the case with soles facing downwards.
Start rolling up the smaller items of clothing like socks, lingerie, vest tops and place around the shoes to balance out the space, creating a flat surface.
Start working with your dresses or trousers. Place each pair of trousers inside each other with each leg separated out into left and right. Fold in half and place in suitcase on top of your shoes, you will only fit half the length of the trousers inside the suitcase at this point, leave the other half draped outside the suitcase.
Do the same with your dresses, place inside each other, fold the necessary pieces of material inside to make a rectangle shape and roll up into a tight roll, place along the back of the suitcase.
Do the same with your tops / shirts and skirts, place inside each other, fold the necessary pieces of material inside to make a rectangle shape and roll up into a tight roll, place in the width of your suitcase.
Invest in a multi-way toiletry bag with different sized compartments for beauty products, make-up and accessories. Everything will have it’s own place and be tidy for when you come to unpack. You can buy travel sized plastic bottles for your toiletries from Muji and this is great for long weekend or conference breaks. If you empty toiletries into travel sized bottles for a longer two week holiday then you might find that you run out sooner than you thought so stick to packing full size bottles.
Once all items are in place then you can fold your trousers up, back on themselves and over everything in your suitcase. Place a few hangers on top and basically the idea is to take all items out of your suitcase upon arrival and hang straight away as they were initially packed. This creates a neat way of packing and will ensure nothing creases or wrinkles.
