George Gets An Online Audience

The George clothing range is one of the most popular clothing lines to be sold in the UK throughout Asda food supermarkets but soon it will be going digital, appearing to the masses online. George clothing will be sold over the internet for the first time next year and is set to be one of the biggest online pushes in Wal-Mart’s recent history.

Asda`s clothing line George, was shortly followed by Tesco and Sainsbury`s bringing in their new lines Florence & Fred (F&F Collection) and TU. It`s a clever concept, no doubt and aimed for mums that don`t have the time to shop anywhere else for clothes, the ranges are very reasonable and there`s every opportunity to pile up your trolley with not only the weekly food essentials but a few clothing treats for the family.

An initial range of one thousand mens, womens and childrenswear lines will be sold to UK shoppers online from February 2008. The range will be expanded significantly following the launch.

The launch of George clothing ranges being available online follows Marks & Spencer’s recent website re-launch and Asda also hopes to steal profits away from it`s close rival Tesco – the UK’s largest retailer, which briefly tested selling clothes online last Christmas but is yet to commit to launching a full online clothing offer.
