Guess who`s come on board the Estee Lauder Cosmetics team as Creative Makeup Director? None other than cosmetic catwalk king Tom Pecheux. His new collection for Estee Lauder was debuted by his team at the Derek Lam Autumn/Winter 2010 show, and as you will see, it is the perfect kit for creating those strong, winter smoky eyes with a twist of something a bit magical.
The Collection itself comes in two looks: Blue Dahlia and Surreal Violet, both of which have a real 1920s twist to them. Blue Dahlia is a mixture of cool striking blues and warm taupey pinks in the form of an eyeshadow palette, two single eyshadows, a lipstick, two lip glosses and my personal favourite, a midnight blue nail varnish. Surreal Violet on the other hand pushes the boundaries a bit more than its classic counterpart. This second collection mixes violet and lilac shades with vintage lime greens and mauves. This slightly less conventional palette is joined by a delicious raspberry pink lipstick – carrying the bright pop lips trend of the summer into the autumn with style.
The packaging certainly doesn`t let the collection down and I doubt that even the smartest of girls would be ashamed to whip these gold monogrammed compacts out of their handbag.
Tom Pecheux tells TopStylista…
`The blues and purples in the collection are iconic colours for autumn and winter. I like to give women choices in the way that they look. From a neutral to a smoky to a fashionable, strong look, these shades can be used with them all.â€
The Estee Lauder Blue Dahlia Collection will preview in Selfridges from July2010 and go nationwide August 2010.
