Zaggora Hot Top & Hot Pants Review

There is always a rush to get that bikini body ready in time for the hot and sunny weather, plus little fashionista me is jetting off to Australia at the end of the year and I am determined to at least tone up so I don`t feel completely out of place on Bondi beach. That`s why I was rather excited when the Zaggora Hotpants 2.0 and Hot Top arrived in the post – I was eager to put them to the test.

Now what is it I hear you ask that makes Zaggora different from the usual workout gear? Well this is the oh-so-clever bit; Celu-Lite Technology is a patent pending, multi-layer fabric technology that harnesses the body`s natural heat during exercise to help you burn more calories. The clothing has been tested in the US and UK and was shown to increase the metabolic rate during exercise by up to 18% versus a standard garment when Zaggora items were worn for at least 30 minutes of exercise. Now that`s a noticeable difference!

The Hot Top has been designed to target the upper stomach and back and is made from fast-drying smart fabrics, woven from recycled nano-sized coffee grounds and ice-cool crystals to wick sweat along the top and sides to keep you cool and fresh. The four-way stretch of the garment creates a softer, lighter and more flexible fit too and the special sports mesh neutralizes odour.

The Hot Pants, which I admit I was more excited to wear as I am a pear shape, targets the hips, bum, thighs, knees and calves. They are thinner, lighter and more flexible than the originals plus the curved seams contour your figure along your natural curves for a great slimming effect.

Now they are a bit of a pain to get on and off (cue an awkward little shimmy move/dance) but to be honest both the top and trousers fit surprisingly well giving me a streamline silhouette – no visible lumps or bumps! This is mostly down to the fabric of the items as it is thicker than other sportswear. Think of trying to put on a wetsuit! It took me a few sessions at the gym to get used to the fit and feel of the material but that was no surprise to me.

As soon as I started exercising I could feel the garments working as my body heat built up and got trapped. This actually helped spur me on to work harder, sweating the whole time which I took as a positive result. I felt like I was making more of a difference than if I was just wearing my normal gym trousers and top. I don`t feel restricted when I`m wearing them either which I did worry slightly about when I first cast my eyes on the products. I literally needed to peel off the top and trousers though after my workouts as I was pretty much drenched in sweat – a sign they are doing the job they were created for.

The Zaggora products leave my skin feeling lovely and smooth after every workout too which is a great little confidence booster. I also noticed that the little patch of cellulite I had at the top of my thigh seems to have disappeared – bonus!

Now with regular exercise and somewhat healthy eating (you can`t say no to chocolate every now and then right?) it is possible to drop a dress size in about a month. A study also found that if Zaggora Hot Pants are worn in resting recovery after 30 minutes of exercise, they can lead to a 12.5% increase in energy expenditure in the 30-60 minutes after exercise. Unfortunately I didn`t realize this when I first started wearing the products so don`t feel I got the maximum benefits out of the top and trousers.

I have, however, managed to fit into a pair of size 6 shorts which I never thought would be possible as I`m normally a size 8/10 on my bottom half. I`ve definitely toned up as well and over a period of about a month going to the gym 3 – 5 times a week I`ve lost about an inch off my thighs and stomach – rejoice! I`m pleased with these results as slow and steady weight lost is the safest route to take. I can`t `weight` to see what I`ll be able to achieve in the next few months – thank you Zaggora!
