Maxi dresses make a come back each year and we love them because they`re effortlessly stylish and so easy to wear with heels or flat thongs, day through to night. They are perfect to wear to an informal Sunday barbie, on a super hot summer`s day at the beach, to a smart formal wedding or simply on holiday, wherever you are, whatever the occasion!
I reckon there`s somewhat of a stigma related to maxi dresses and most of us think that only glam model types can wear such items. This, however, is definitely not the case.
Here`s our Maxi Dress Style Guide:
Floral Maxi Dress, £55.00 Rare Fashion
Strappy or halter neck maxi dresses with fuller skirts are best suited to rectangle or inverted triangle body shapes. This one with the draping detail down the front is perfect for those who like to disguise their waistline and the ditsy floral pattern is well suited to petite figures as well. Team with a cream crochet knitted cardigan and tan suede cork wedges for a high summer look!
Charlies Girls – Maxi Rara, £74 Traffic People
Admittedly, this strappy vintage-inspired maxi dress is best suited to lean athletic figures. Its tiered layering detail from the waist down means it can add unnecessary bulk to slightly fuller shapes, which won`t be as flattering as other styles. Hard to wear but if you fit the crit then go for it all guns blazing. Wear this dress with embellished flats and simple metallic clutch for that special wow factor!
Uttam Fayth Maxi Dress, £54.95 Uttam Direct
This dress is by far my favourite, might have something to do with the fact it suits my pear body shape! Hourglass figures will also look fabulous in this simple floral maxi dress. Curvy, petite, whatever your shape, this dress is the one for you and will look amazing teamed with statement wedges, platform killer heels or classic leather thongs.
