Trinny and Susannah What Not To Wear – Tell Me What To Wear!

By going onto the Style website I quickly retrieved the results back from Trinny and Susannah`s `What To Wear` test. I was asked a series of questions, seven in total, each with three answers which appeared in drop-down menus.

After hitting the `Tell Me What To Wear!` button I was presented with a lengthy write-up on what to wear and what to stay away from. What a novel idea!

For those of us who find shopping a nightmare and are totally lost when it comes to buying clothes, you can print out the results and take these informative notes with you when you are on a shopping trip. This is probably easier than going shopping with the real Trinny and Susannah! There`s no doubt the fashion duo truly know what they`re talking about.

My what to wear, what not to wear style notes from Trinny and Susannah:

Abide by the following rules when you hit the high street and we`ll make a leggy, supermodel of you yet.

Avoid three-quarter length trousers because they make legs look shorter. Trousers should be full length, falling to the bottom of the heel.
Don`t wear trousers with turn-ups or wide legs, instead opt for narrow, straight legs or bootcut trousers
Skirts and trousers with high waistbands make legs look longer too.
Create the illusion of height by wearing a top and bottom of the same colour, drawing the eye up and down.
Longer length jackets worn undone also give the illusion of height.
Avoid chunky, ribbed tops that widen rather than lengthen the body.
Wear heels.
Although your shoulders may be average, you may not want to draw attention to them. If this is the case, avoid the following:

Delicate tops with spaghetti straps.
Halter-necked tops.
Slash-necked tops.

Always wear a bra.
Wear high-necked tops or roll-necks that accentuate your boobs.
Opt for delicate tops with spaghetti straps.
Sleeveless, round-necked tops that show off your arms are great.
Wear tops in a lighter colour than your lower half.
Don`t be tempted to hide your waist under shapeless, smock-like clothing. Add definition and create a waistline to be proud of.

A-line skirts are great for slimming a wide waistline.
Wear tops that are fitted under the boobs to give definition.
Wear fitted clothes and avoid shapeless dresses.
Wear hipsters instead of high-waisted trousers.
Lucky you, you`ve been blessed with a pancake-flat stomach! You can get away with pretty much any trouser or skirt style. However make sure that you read our Style guide, as well as our advice for your other body areas before you hit the shops.

If your hips and thighs are of average size, then you`re one of the lucky ones. Flatter this area by avoiding the following clothes, which can visually add pounds to the hips and thighs:

Long dresses and skirts cut on the bias.
Trousers with detail, such as side pockets.
Belted jackets and coats which flare out at the bottom.
We all have off days, and if you`ve ever asked the question: `Does my bum look big in this?”, try these tips:

Avoid lighter colours on your bottom. Darker colours are always more slimming.
Avoid trousers with pleats and other details, such as pockets or pinstripes.
Avoid horizontal stripes.
