The ubiquitous, UK stylista’s Trinny and Susanah have a bee in their bonnet about incorrectly fitted bras. Congratulations to them for raising this issue which blights many women’s lives. Poor posture, back ache and sagging can all be traced back to poor fitting bra’s.

So why are so many women struggling with poorly fitted bras?

Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine in their new show “Undress the Nation” decided to find out by testing the various measurement services offered by high street retailers.

What they discovered was that each shop they visited provided completely different measurements. Add this to the fact that there appears to be no standardised sizing between bra manufacturers and you have a recipe for disaster.

The message here, is to ensure that you are properly fitted for a bra each time you buy one. It won’t just improve posture - you will also see clothes fitting better.

Further to this, Trinny and Susannah are advocating that a better gauge of bosom size might be weight. They suggest dunking a breast in a bowl full of water - the displaced water can give you an approximation of each breasts weight.
If you want to do this at home - one litre of water weighs one kilogram.

They argue that this could help scientists improve bra designs - something that’s badly needed. This is in light of new research that suggests that 75% of women don’t know their breast size.
