Trend Alert: Fall Bling

I hesitate to discredit this by calling it a mere trend – it’s so much more. Architect Frank Gehry’s new line of bling for Tiffany’s is stunning!
The modish architect became the first outside designer hired by Tiffany & Co. in more than two decades. With this historic agreement, Gehry brings interesting fluid shapes in six collections that are all a far cry from the blue box jeweller’s typical floating hearts and dog tags.
“His revolutionary aesthetic has literally redefined architecture, said Michael J. Kowalski, Tiffany’s chairman & CEO.”…Mr. Gehry’s genius with Tiffany’s tradition of innovation and utmost quality, will change the rules of jewelry and fashion.”
Some of the striking pieces draw on Gehry’s recognizable motifs e.g. fish. The exclusive jewelry collection ranges from $125 silver rings to a $1M diamond brooch inspired by Gehry’s Guggenheim Bilbao floor plan.
The collection comprises rich, unusual materials like black gold, precious metals, stones and wood all blended into provocative new shapes - jewel icons.
