Bono the U2 frontman has been busy promoting his Red Project which gives a percentage of profits to charitable projects that fight Aids in Africa. It’s a great cause and gives us all the opportunity to contribute while indulging in a little fashion retail therapy.

The project is reported to have GAP on board with a specially produced Red T-shirt and various link ups with Converse All Stars and Giles Deacon.

According to Treehugger:

Converse say that they will work in collaboration with ‘designers, artists, musicians and filmmakers to inspire originality by creating limited edition Converse RED shoes on a unique canvas that preserves culture and celebrates creativity.’ The Chief Marketing Officer of Converse, Dave Maddocks, couldn’t be more enthusiastic about the idea. “Red is masterful in its simplicity: the greatest brands in the world enlisted to help with the biggest global emergency of our times. We are proud to be able to lend one of pop culture’s most original and globally recognizable icons to assist in this critical endeavour”.

If it’s not enough that Bono is trying to save the world, his wife Ali Hewson is getting stuck into her own ethical label called Edun which offers a variety of stylish dresses and tops.
