It’s always challenging to find a perfect pair of jeans at the best of times but that task must be even harder if you require a plus-size pair.

Jeans are one of the items that we practically wear everyday, for any occasion or social meeting and in any season so it’s vital to get the perfect fit. Yet finding a great pair that will fit you properly while still enhancing your curves, especially if you’re plus-size will always be a daunting task. If you’re larger than a size 14 and you struggle to find a stylish and sexy pair of jeans, don’t tear your hair out just yet.

Here are some useful styling tips to help you find the most flattering style to fit your shapely figure

1. Go for a darker wash – ink blues and blacks are chic and the most slimming! Also darker denim can be worn easily for both, day or evening time.

2. Jeans that have a little stretch in them will offer comfort throughout the day and by wearing a more structured fabric will help keep their shape better, pulling you in, in all the right places.

3. Jeans sizing can be strange but my advice to you is when looking for the perfect jeans, be patient and try on many different styles and sizes.

4. Stay away from the boyfriend or carpenter baggy styles of jean - they may look more comfortable to wear but they’ll only make you look bigger. However, if you opt for skinny or tight fitting jeans then they can equally have the same effect.

Figure-Flattering Styling Tricks

1. The secret when looking for a style that can most enhance your shape is to look for detail.

2. To form the illusion of longer looking legs opt for a dark wash in a boot-cut, or flared leg style with slit pockets, or without pockets altogether. The continuous line that these jeans will create from hip-to-hem, tricks the eye into thinking you’re taller than you actually are and always wear your jeans or any trousers for that matter with some killer heels making sure the hem hits the bottom of your heel.

3. To flatten a prominent tummy, steer clear of low-rise, hipsters and buy only mid to high-rise jeans. High-waisted jeans are everywhere at the moment so take advantage of these gorgeous styles and grab them while you can.

4. To make your derrière look smaller, wear a dark wash in a boot cut leg style with extra-large pockets, that sit flat on your behind. Avoid flaps or any detail that will add more bulk to your rear.
