Personally, I have always loved tartan for it’s bold and versatile characteristics. But it can easily look ridiculous in the wrong hands.

Alexander McQueen has done wonders with his tartan offerings which we took a look at here with “Go Tartan with Alexander McQueen”.

If you’re lacking the confidence to experiment with the full tartan outfit or dress why not try accessorising. This will give you a feel for whether your complexion or build will suit one of the more comprehensive tartan designs that are appearing at Burberry, Dian von Furstenberg and Balenciaga.

Some complain of tartan’s overwhelming characteristics, but it doesn’t have to be that way with some shrewd combinations.
