Sperry Top-Sider Boat Shoes
Sperry Top-Sider has been making luxury footwear since 1935 and has managed to establish itself as one of the USA’s most iconic nautical brands. The inventor of the brand, eponymous Paul Sperry, is responsible for inventing the world’s first boat shoe, and it still remains today. In 2012, their range is vast, eclectic and brimming with class – I had no idea so many different types of boat shoe existed!
I was lucky enough to get my hands on a pair of the A/O’S in Oatmeal (as seen below) which retail at £80 from Asos.com.
One of the key assets of the Sperry Top-Sider brand is it’s allegiance to quality. The boat shoes I tried were crafted from leather that is gorgeously soft, unlike most other boat shoes, and as a consequence they were extremely comfortable to wear.
Aside, from their evident quality, they look stunning! The pair I tried came in faded tan leather with cream sole and adorable brown laces – there is only one word for them – classy. I am not normally a fan of shoes but these are sublime, and have quickly become my favourites! I can’t wait for the spring and summer just so I can wear them!
