SAMPLE SALE SEASON – Part One

Here comes winter again … summer is over and all we are left with is the bleak outlook of short, cold, rainy days.
But there’s good news to lift your spirit. It is the beginning of the Sample Sales Season.

I love sample sales ... the thrill of finding designer pieces at a fraction of the normal cost would keep me going through hours of queuing, browsing and smelly fitting rooms.

Generally when I shop in stores I am very impatient. I can easily be put off by a longer than 10 minute wait or a particularly slow cashier. But not when it comes to sample sales, at these occasions I am actually prepared. In fact, I have a sort of survival guide that I always make sure to follow and I want to share with you!

Here some of the basic principles:

• Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. You will probably be queuing for a long time (depending on the popularity of the sale - it can be hours!).
• Give yourself a budget. It will help you be more selective about what you buy.
• Bring cash. Most sales accept cards but there will be a surcharge. Look after the pennies …
• Go with a friend. It will be much more fun!
• Wear nice lingerie. Now I know this might sound strange, but you will be undressing in front of hundreds of other girls. Wearing your favourite pair of knickers will make you feel more confident.
