To mark their 60th year they have just launched their funky new Zodiac collection which is available as of this month (February) in their store off Carnaby Street.
The new designs reflect interpretations of the Zodiac calendar which include three brand new silhouettes for the season: the Lawnship, the Vikka and the Mexico Midrunner.
The Japanese Zodiac features a 60-year cycle based on a combination of 12 animals and five ruling elements. Legend says the Jade Emperor asked all the animals to compete in a tough and grueling race across a river, promising the first twelve who reached the other side would have a Zodiac sign named after them.
With this in mind the collection will make far more sense ... “The SS09 collection takes inspiration from the first six animals to finish the race; DesignerTakeshi Fukui has focused his attention on the Rat, Ox and Tiger whilst Sesigner Erik Kriek has used the Rabbit, Dragon and Snake as his muses.
Depending on the animal sign and element you are born under will depend on your personality traits and horoscope predictions, and the SS09 collection enables your feet to tailor their fashion to your very own animal instincts.
