I’m excited to say that the next guest designer for H&M is none other than Matthew Williamson!  First off will be an exclusive women’s fashion range at selected stores on April 23rd, then continuing with the both men’s and women’s pieces for summer, which are available from Mid-May in all H&M stores worldwide – don’t miss this!

British designer Matthew Williamson first appeared on the fashion scene in 1997 wowing us with his colour popping collection modelled by Kate Moss, Helena Christensen and Jade Jagger.  He will no doubt not let us down with his H&M designs, where he will debut his first ever menswear pieces, he says –

“It is an incredible opportunity to be working with H&M, creating a ‘Matthew Williamson for H&M’ capsule collection. I love the fact that H&M have created a new phenomenon in fashion through the pioneering concept of collaborating with high-end designers to create one-off limited edition capsule collections. I am thrilled that my creations for H&M will be accessible to and hopefully enjoyed by so many people around the world.“

Matthew’s bright, colourful, girly prints are sure to be a bit hit in summer, as sell out collections from Roberto Cavalli, Madonna and Stella McCartney caused quite a stir with panic mad shoppers purchasing a piece of affordable high-end fashion clothing.  I’m sure I’ll be queuing up for quite some time to try and grab a Matthew Williamson creation, ensuring I’m bang on trend for summer!

H&M’s business concept is to make sure customers get fashion and quality at the best price possible, which makes the store catch the eyes of top designers such as Williamson! Margareta van den Bosch, who is the Creative advisor at H&M explains –

“Matthew has such a good eye and a way for working with prints that he mixes up in a new way. When he combines these things, you get a very contemporary London look. It’s for people who want to look special, but his clothes can also be worn in a nonchalant way- you can really play around with them. He is fantastic with piling on colour - it’s a very stylish collaboration for H&M, and very much in line with the way we’re thinking about fashion for spring/summer,”
