Loving the Onitsuka Tiger Lawnships

I’m a huge fan of Onitsuka Tiger with a total of 4 pairs… that’s right, my dress down wardrobe is almost always accompanied by my Tigers!
Well… the brand has done it again in my view with their new Lawnships which have been cleverly launched just in time for Wimbledon (another love of mine). As you can see the new trainers clearly take some inspiration from this great British sporting event. The trainers come in black or white and are unisex.
BUT… the Lawnship is not a new trainer, it was first released in 1976 and was designed for legendary professional Ken Rosewall.
The new Lawnship still has the rounded toe that allowed for greater movement when alternating between forward and backward running and side to side movement. It even has the non slip outsole feature that enabled short sharp dashes, however this is probably now more suited to dashing for the last bench in the beer garden or keeping on your feet at the festivals this summer!
To further support the launch campaign OS have embraced the web and created a very addictive Flash game which takes you back to 1976 and the classic ‘panels’ game. If you score the ghighest you win a pair of these rather snazzy trainers.
