Kara by Kara Ross Handbags, Fine and Boutique Jewellery
I love learning of new designers and brands that I haven’t heard of before, so I was pleased to stumble across a stunning accessories collection called Kara, by Kara Ross. Her spring/summer 2009 collection is packed full of beautiful handbag and jewellery that sum up elegant and feminine in one foul swoop!
Throughout the collection the theme is bright and vibrant, which sets the mood for summer perfectly! Leather handbags and jewellery have been created in tangerine, coral, turquoise and pink jewel colours, as seen on the catwalks this season. Gold cast stone bangles highlighted with pink topaz are also an eye catching detail throughout this collection, and these bangles can be worn one at a time or they can be stacked high to create a noticeable chunky look. I really do think stacked high they make a fabulous statement piece that will compliment a feminine maxi dress in the height of summer ahead! A vintage style necklace in gold and amber or white jade semi precious stones is one of my favourite pieces from the jewellery range. I really like the gold cast stone detail on the bangles too, as this gives the entire collection a classic feel, which combined with the vibrant colours makes them perfect for wearing in the warmer climate or on holiday!
Kara Ross already has an A-List celebrity following including Liv Tyler, Eva Longoria and Sarah Michelle Geller - there’s no surprise really, as her accessories are absolutely stunning! In her new spring/summer range she has also updated existing clutch bag designs by adding new shapes including the Spero and Vita. These slight editions were introduced after launching her first jewellery collection of pearl and 18 carot gold pieces, which were sold to Neiman Marcus stores, and so in 2006 she turned her creative energies to designing handbags using exotic skins and gems.
Kara Ross has combined stunning texture and striking colours in both her jewellery and handbag ranges and I feel this is really her signature style. I absolutely love the use of colour in this range and the clutches I must say are divine!
