After launching five seasons ago Jaeger London, the iconic label mostly associated with British-cool style made its debut at London Fashion Week and on the catwalk for the very first time.

Showing on the first day of London Fashion Week, Jaeger showcased their new A/W08 collection to an eager and excited audience, a beautiful contemporary collection. Mixing elegant and quirky pieces it resulted in a look that was both chic and slightly rebellious, but most importantly extremely wearable.

Wide leg trousers were teamed up with tribal gillets and big capes while oversized alpaca coats were covering mini dresses and tartan skirts. Sharp tailored suits with maxi skirts looked feminine and demure.

As the color palette was flowing slowly between neutrals, petrols and black the mood was chic and at times rendered austere by the military-inspired silhouette.

An unexpectedly swirl of flirty Seventies-like dresses in floaty daring chiffon and silks and a head-to- toe snake print dominated the catwalk in gold yellow and petrol blue. Ultra feminine blouses featured oversized bows and were worn over slinky flared trousers. Fringed shawls were transformed into sensual evening dresses.

Textures and fabrics were luxurious and glossy however prints were the main feature mixing animal, geometric, stripes and florals. Python print and alpaca hobo bags, fringed clutches and belts, patent leather bucket bags all added a wonderful nonchalant feeling to this collection.

At the end of the show the audience was high and the fervid comments were a clear sign of approval.

For Jaeger it was a successful first time and we are already awaiting the next exciting showcase.
