The store stocks the latest must-have designer labels such as Hempleman Collection, Lulu Guinness and Penelope And Parker as well as its own RB range!  There’s a fantastic collection of styles to take you from the office to evening cocktails such as classically shaped clutch bags and stylish patent and quilted shoulder bags and totes.  Weekend bags are also featured on the site to make sure you’re travelling in style!

Jamie - Tell us about you and your bags.

Tamara - The bags I select for the site or design range from the classic shapes to modern casual, I think there are so many tastes, moods and functional needs as well as outfits so I try and be as broad as possible. The common themes are beauty, quality and value for money.

Jamie - When did you realise you wanted to get into a career in bag designing?

Tamara - I’ve always been obsessed with bags, much more than clothes and shoes. I used to watch old movies and always look out for the purses the stars were carrying. So I guess the interest was always there.

Jamie - What made you decide that you wanted to set up your brand Ruby Bow?

Tamara - I thought that every woman should have a least one good bag so about 3 years ago I decided I wanted to do something about it. Friends would always ask me where I get my bags from so I started selling to them and it grew from there.

Jamie - If your bags were a celebrity who would they be and why?

Tamara - I would think that Kate Winslet, fashionable and classy, but accessible at the same time.

Jamie - Where do you get your inspiration and ideas from when designing a new collection?

Tamara - I get most of inspiration from my customers, what they like and need.

Jamie - Who are your top 3 favourite bag designers?

Tamara - Prada constantly come up with bags I swoon over, Hermes for their classic styles, Penelope and Parker, a new label, designing work/ laptop bags with a more fashionable element to the norm.

Jamie - Which country in the world do you think has the best style in bags?

Tamara - It has to be Italy, they live and breathe leather and bags and pour their passion into them. The sheer number of great labels coming out of Italy proves this.

Jamie - What one element makes your bags stand out from other brands?

Tamara - There are lots of beautiful great quality bags in the market, but I always make sure that what I range represents great value for money.

Jamie - If you could design a bag for one particular celebrity who would it be?

Tamara - It would be great to design a bag for the queen, wouldn’t it!

Jamie - Tell us what the futures got in store for Ruby Bow?

Tamara - We want to grow the brand and develop international markets.

Jamie - What essential piece of advice would you give to someone who wanted a career in bag designing?

Tamara - Training is important, get involved in a course, think about the user of the bag and detail is everything!
