Whilst browsing online for a fashion agony solution for one of my readers, I came across a great website called Curvety - an online shopping emporium exclusively designed for ladies with fuller figures.

I really like what this website has to offer because they have some gorgeous clothes on it that weren’t frumpy at all! I know that curvy women struggle to find plus-size clothing that they really like but Curvety has trendy and glamourous clothes on offer.

Their plus-size clothing range starts from size 16 through to 36 and features designer chic whilst more importantly being comfortable to wear. I was also shocked to find out how reasonable the clothes are.

Curvety claims that they specialise in selling plus-size clothing and accessories aimed at fashion conscious women who want to look fantastic. Their aim is to provide a fabulous range of trendy plus size clothing that looks great and fits well and they believe that being big is most definitely beautiful and everyone, no matter what your size, should be able to find and wear fantastic feminine and fashionable clothes.

Yes, everyone deserves fasionable clothes regardless of size and without breaking the bank. But what about the curvy girl that is not plus size? If you’re a 5’3, 130 pound 34DD, shopping is just as hard. Size XL tops to accomodate the bust make you look frumpy as they don’t fit the shoulders and waist properly. Any shopping pointers for those of us sporting retro pin-up girl physiques?

Hi Elphaba. Thank you very much for your comment! If you let me know where you are based I can do some research on finding you some stores/boutiques in your area or online which cater for curvier ladies. One piece of advice from me would be to stick to structured fabrics which hold their shape therefore giving you more shape. A great top for you would be a classic tailored wrap shirt which would accommodate for your bust but also giving your waist a great shape. Good luck and many thanks again. Chantelle

As someone who works in the fashion industry, I know how hard it is to design clothing for all the various body types. So, I would recommend structured fabrics (as Chantelle suggested). For bottoms, if you’re having a problem, you might want to have your clothing altered. I know a lot of plus-size women buy cheaper clothing. Sometimes that’s all you can find on a tight budget. But I prefer to save up and buy quality clothing, because it lasts longer and usually has a better fit. I see a good wardrobe as an investment. If you don’t feel good about the way you look, your level of self-confidence is lower and it shows.

Similar question as Elphaba; I’m a DD with a taad extra, but not much. As a highschooler, most things with a defined waist look too old for me and anything without makes me look heavier or overly busty. Any advice?

Hi, So I am a 32 F which is pretty huge and I also have a problem with finding clothes that dont make me look fat or slutty. I only wear a size 8 but can look much bigger since i have such a curvy figure. What type of jeans should i wear to complement my curves?

I am 5’0”, 36C chest, but I have a tiny waist and large hips. It is so difficult to find clothes that fit me properly when I am nowhere near plus size, but skinny girl clothes just look terrible on me, accenting all my curves the wrong way!
