Chunky Knitwear to see you through Winter 2011!
I have to admit – I love winter clothing. Wrapping up in gorgeous chunky knitwear to prepare for the cold weather is a little highlight of the season for me. Knits have come a long way over the years and have transformed into stylish, wearable designs and there are some hot trends in the high street and designer stores at the moment that are just pure must-haves for this winter.
Navajo knits are chunky, oversized and oh so cool – but not literally! These woollies are perfect for layering over jumpers and will definitely keep out the winter chill. Stripy knits are great at giving the illusion of curves and are a chic print alternative to wear to work. Go for a fitted design for a smart look or a slouchy style for casual wear.
Play around with texture clashing and wear your favourite chunky jumper with a leather skirt (fitted or flared!) to create an uber stylish day to night look. All you need to do next is team the outfit with a pair of sky high ankle boots and you’re good to go! If you want to take the whole chunky knits trend to the next level then wear it top to toe – double trouble at its best! Make sure not to completely drown your silhouette though – pair an oversized jumper with a knitted pencil skirt to balance your shape.
Plum is one of this season’s hottest colours to be seen in so why not choose a chunky knit in this must-have shade. The gorgeous deep tone gives pieces a luxurious feel. Knitted shorts are also a chic alternative to suit trousers this season. They look perfect teamed with opaque tights and a fitted jumper – say hello to your new winter work wardrobe!
