Flabby arms effect quite a lot of women especially when they get a little older. There are some great items of clothing that you can buy to cleverly cover this part of the body.

Here are some great tips of things TO DO if you are starting to get flabby arms:

Nowadays shrugs and bolero style jackets are an extra addition to any day or evening wear outfit. This style of top is great for covering flabby arms.

Go for fabrics that skim over the arm rather than skin tight materials which will cling. Lightweight muslin, fine cotton or chessecloth tunics are a must especially during the Summer months, they will look great and also keep you cool in the humid temperatures.

A pashmina is a good accessory to wear with an evening outfit to cover your arms you can also buy more casual coloured ones for day wear, look for pastel shades if you want to do this.

Darker coloured tops are more flattering on the arms.

If your outfit requires you to wear a jacket, cardigan or a long sleeve silk fabric in the Spring/Summer then invest in some sweat pads - you can protect your clothing from sweaty marks and therefore they will last longer! You can buy these sweat pads from John Lewis, the UK department store.

Go for 3/4 length sleeves for covering flabby arms, they are flattering because they leave the thinnest part of your arm visible.

Here are some great tips of things NOT TO DO if you are starting to get flabby arms:

Never wear strappy tops, I know they are great in the Summer but find an alternative to keep you cool.

Avoid tight sleeved tops and big patterns on the arms.
