AW09 Brand to Watch - e.g…fashion

I wanted to share a little treasure of a brand that I recently stumbled upon called ‘EG Fashion’. I’ve picked it out to do well this AW09 because they clearly have a very different cutting edge approach on offer and appear to be pushing the boundaries of design (which we like to see). The shoulders are big, bold and very Dynasty - and well in time for the impending AW09 exaggerated shoulder trend. The overall look is slick and sharp with clean cut lines, which I absolutely love!! I wore some of the pieces for a magazine shoot I did a few weeks ago and I must say the outfit looked really striking in the pictures.

Silk Taffeta Cardinal Skirt - Copper
100% silk taffeta, angular, circle skirt with cardinal fringed detail. It gives a strong, more sculptured look thanks to a stiffened trim along the bottom. Our Cardinal Skirt stands rather than falls. £270

Cotton Cardinal Shirt - Beige
100% cotton shirt with a cardinal collar and detail. A beautifully fitted shirt with French seams and a stunning cardinal detail to the front. £105

All the pieces are incredibly distinctive so prepare to stand out (for all the right reasons of course). Emma Griffiths is the founder (along with her partner Jeanpierre Kalebic), and she’s learnt from the best - Alexander McQueen. Her inspirations come from Boudicca as well as 80s style icons such as Grace Jones along with Joan Collins and all her collection is designed and manufactured from her design studio in London’s Spitalfields.

Whilst the brand is literally only a few months old, Emma and her team have already secured a number of looks for Ciara’s promotional trips, and if you check out the styles it’s obvious why!

Their entire collection is available online on the EG Website and expect to see a lot more of these guys.
