We’ve been trying out some of the best lotions, potions and gift sets on the market in the run up to Christmas. If you love your beauty stocking fillers then this article is the place to send your partner to so as they get the hint!

In no particular order here are our top 3 (more coming soon!):

Lanolin Golden Ointment

In classic designed packaging, this product not only looks quality and feels nice to touch, but it also contains a wondrous cream that is a ‘Super Moisturiser’ for extremely dry skin, something I suffer from in the winter. The product contains Ultra Pure Medical Grade Lanolin with Manuka Honey & Vitamin E and is fragrance and colouring free – it’s also non greasy and leaves the skin extremely smooth and moistourised! I’ve used it a couple of times since receiving and can honestly say this is one of my favourite moisturizer creams discovered this year!

It retails for £17.99 on and in Boots from February 2012.

Perfect Secret Anti-Wrinkle Serum

For those a little concerned about those little signs of ageing, this is your magic bullet! The Perfect Secret Anti-Wrinkle Serum claims to deliver immediate results through its combination of ingredients, including Collagen and Aloe Vera. This little product is an extremely viable alternative to painful injectables and it hydrates and heals skin at the same time – bonus! I’ve been applying it to my rather tired looking husband every day for the last 3 days and I have to say his skin is certainly looking tighter – his crow’s feet have certainly reduced. This is a quality product, which I can honestly recommend to my readers. It retails for £39.99 and can be purchased from

If you’re a savvy shopper who likes to save pennies where you can, you may be put off by the price of branded products such as ghd straighteners.

At £100 a pop, these products aren’t exactly pocket money buys. However, what you may not realise is that ghd straighteners are expensive because they are not just a one-off purchase – they are an investment.
Taken care of properly, a pair of ghd straighteners will last you several years, and that includes their 2 year guarantee, which offers you an instant replacement should your styler prove faulty within 2 years of purchase. In contrast to cheap imitations and counterfeit stylers, ghd products will not need replacing for a substantial amount of time, and their quality of performance will not decrease. Buy cheaper stylers and you risk unnecessary replacement or repair costs, as well as damage to your hair due to inferior technology and safety standards. So when you think about it, the genuine ghds are really the cheap ghds in the long run. Calculate the price per month, and you’ll see for yourself.

Celgenics is a new range of cosmetics that is changing the face of the industry and we’ve been lucky enough to try it out. The products use electromagnetic energy, alongside hyaluronic acid frequencies and collagen to help increase the skins cellular energy and rejuvenation counteracting the effects of ageing.

We’ve now used it for a month and have to say that it feels fantastic, especially in this cold weather when our skin is so horribly dry. The cream itself has a gorgeous texture and applies incredibly well. It also lasts all day from one application and leaves your skin feeling well nourished.

It’s marketed as a ‘facial in a jar’ and have to say that we have to agree that this statement is pretty much spot on based on how fresh it leaves your skin feeling after application.

The product ingredients are made up of essential oils, such as Frankincense, Geranium and Ylang Ylang, which makes for a great combination of skin repair and replenishment.

I am so obsessed with fragrance and perfume that I often forget that they are not always part of everyone’s beauty regime.  Many women just don’t get excited by fragrance on the same level that they do with, say, lipstick or eyeshadow.  Many of you probably don’t see the fun in scent and probably find the fragrance world too cluttered with celebrity endorsements and generic ingredient combinations.

Guess who’s come on board the Estee Lauder Cosmetics team as Creative Makeup Director?  None other than cosmetic catwalk king Tom Pecheux.  His new collection for Estee Lauder was debuted by his team at the Derek Lam Autumn/Winter 2010 show, and as you will see, it is the perfect kit for creating those strong, winter smoky eyes with a twist of something a bit magical.
