The Duchess of Cambridge is leading the way in chic maternity dressing, looking unbelievably flawless and elegant in her choices of clothing and accessories.  Finding fashionable yet practical maternity wear nowadays is not as simple as it sounds so if you want to follow in the footsteps of Kate then stick to complimenting shapes and simple designs.

Luxury boutique Babes with Babies was launched by Sophie Devonshire.  The wife of a diplomat and mum of two, she wanted to provide stylish and practical maternity fashion for formal occasions as well as day to day feminine style.  Becoming a mother is an incredible and life changing experience but sometimes not so glamorous.  This perception can be changed though as Babes with Babies believes that pregnant women and new mothers deserve a touch of luxury in this new phase of their life.

The beautiful selection of clothing will help you feel fabulous when your body is changing letting you feel comfortable without having to worry that you’re loosing your stylish ways.  Designs have been created to flatter your growing bump such as draping effects and belt detailing whilst keeping in-tone with current trends.

A sweet silver and white zigzag stripe pattern on the Portobello Belle top is complimented by a bold pink shoulder strap which can be delicately tied into a bow for understated glamour.  It has also been tailored to create a streamline silhouette over your bump.  Subtle, almost muted pinks, are a great choice too as Sophie Devonshire explains:

“Soft pink colours are great in maternity wear – flattering on a tired complexion.  As well as being great for summer weddings, they’re also great for helping give a good pregnancy ‘glow’ as they reflect softly onto your face.”

If you’re attending a special event this summer such as a wedding, don’t fret about what you might wear.  Feel ultra glamorous in one of Babes with Babies’ occasion dresses like the Amandine silk party creation.  The bright watercolour print gives the piece a really distinctive look plus the fabric will skim over your bump for relaxed femininity.  The sash belt can be used to give the dress shape and definition too.

Sandals are normally the shoe of choice for summer and are a great way of adding a bit of glamour to ensembles no matter what the occasion.  Shoes of Prey, the online company that offers women the opportunity to design their own shoes, has recently collaborated with one of Australia’s most influential fashion designers Carla Zampatti to create three fabulous sandals for this season.

These gorgeous heels feature two straps and come in three colourways; nude, black and snakeskin.  The collection pushes Carla’s signature minimalist aesthetic in a bold new direction whilst still appealing to shoe fanatics who appreciate simplicity with a slight edge.  The long tassel detailing on the back of each style creates a subtle femininity allowing for a bit of movement to give them that ‘swishing’ feel when you walk.  You’ll feel like you’re on the catwalk!

Carla Zampatti says:

“Not only stunning, the shoes feel great to wear and make a woman feel great wearing them.  Nothing is more appealing than that.”

They’ll easily compliment the all-white trend or the more bolder styles we’re seeing this season like exotic prints, neon flashes and floral.  Contemporary dressing has never been so achievable!  And in true Shoes of Prey style, shoppers can edit the colours as well as the materials of each sandal to create a shoe that is a little more personal and unique.

It’s time your feet were freed from the restraints of boots and ballet pumps and got a little fresh air this season so add a pair of the Carla Zampatti sandals to your summer wardrobe – they are a total investment!

If summer is anything like the bank holiday Monday we just had then I can imagine quite a few Brits will be hitting the coast to top up their tans over the next few months.  You could even be in the process of planning a holiday abroad for guaranteed sun and white sandy beaches so may feel like updating your summer wardrobe just a tad.

Over the past couple of months I haven’t been completely wowed by Topshop as nothing was really standing out for me.  But since coming across the new range of beach and holiday pieces I am once again smitten with the high street brand and am reminded why it is one of my favourite shopping hotspots.  Just looking at the latest additions of on-trend clothing, accessories and shoes gets me ever so excited for summer.  Trust me; you’ll need an excuse to flaunt this gorgeous collection!

The Palm Springs range is everything you could possibly want for your holiday wardrobe as it is filled with exotic bold prints such as banana leaves, animals, safari, Aztec and floral as well as zingy vibrant and fresh shades for clashing fashion forward dressing.  Just think of all of this season’s hottest trends rolled up into one in-demand range.

Each item will help bring a little fun to your summer style as they have been made to turn heads – it’s all about the strut and the sass.  Cute tops and shorts as well as playful dresses will make for great daywear whilst the bodycon dress, tapered trousers and skirts will continue the colourful vibe into the evening.  Rock a pair of timeless style sandals that have been amped up with metal details, jewels and flashes of neon then say hello to statement jewellery; a spike ring or African inspired collar will do the trick.

First there was monochrome, then came the white-out.  Popular high street shopping destination French Connection has brought out a capsule collection for summer aptly named White Lies.  This serene range of sophisticated tailored separates nods to the ‘all things white’ trend which was spotted on the designer catwalks giving fashionistas a break from hectic prints and vibrant hues.

We associate white with a sense of purity and calm so giving your wardrobe a new season detox will not only clear your mind but your wardrobe too.  This is a huge colour trend for summer 2013 and if you think this is a straightforward style then think again!  Valentino, Simone Rocha and Stella McCartney opted for broderie anglaise and pretty filigree fabrics whilst Prada and Celine went for clean precise origami folds.

The always fashionably fabulous Louise Roe has once again teamed up with online boutique StylistPick to bring shoppers a gorgeous on-trend collection of statement shoes, bags and jewellery for SS13!  The presenter and fashion icon found time in her busy schedule to design the pieces that are total on-trend must-haves for the new season.

Louise has injected her love of bright colour and 70s boho chic into the capsule range which has been inspired by fashion icons from different eras including Edie Sedewick, Bianca Jagger, Kate Bosworth and Miranda Kerr.  Graphic lines, multiple colours and contrasting textures have been used to create platform sandals that are decidedly modern with the bags and jewellery also being able to hold their own in the fashion crowd.

There are two types of sandals in this collection, multi or wide strap, which will re-establish your love for super sleek high heels.  The colour blocking trend has been infused into the designs for epic style stealing bliss!  Leg lengthening and incredibly gorgeous these are the perfect summer shoes for weddings, garden parties and evening events.  I can already see myself tottering about in them!
