Festival season has well and truly started with Californian-based music and arts extravaganza Coachella kicking things off.  The star-studded event always attracts a plethora of a-listers who treat us to a magnitude of creative looks, covering a vast amount of the style spectrum, giving UK festival-goers plenty of inspirational fashion for the endless music spectacles ahead.

Coachella is probably the most glam-infused festival and, unlike Britain, wellies can be comfortably left in wardrobes as in the Californian heat it’s all about tiny shorts, crop tops, flowered accessories and plenty of fringing.  Celebrity Instagrams have been going crazy as the likes of Rita Ora, Selena Gomez, Alessandra Ambrosio and the Jenner sisters gave us a fashionable glimpse into the sun-soaked music event and the trends they’re rocking.

Flower power seems to be back as Poppy Delevingne was seen sporting a cute bloom-tastic headband which she contrasted beautifully with a grungy fringed jacket and a retro high waisted bikini, effortlessly combining three trends in one amazing look.  Kendall and Kylie Jenner went over to the dark side, showcasing gothic attire which can be easily achieved with black lace, heavy jewellery and a studded bum bag.

There’s no denying the practicality of a trusty t-shirt dress, especially come spring time.  The garment’s understated off-duty coolness makes it a wardrobe staple and is a blank fashion canvas just waiting for your creative touch.

The first step to achieving laidback dressing is finding the right t-shirt dress like Miss Selfridge’s gorgeous cocoon frock.  The pretty coral is the perfect spring hue and the lovely subtle textured detailing exudes a dash of luxury which makes it stand out above the rest.  By wearing this garment with different clothing and accessories, you’ll be able to transform the dress for various occasions making it ideal for a capsule wardrobe.  Struggling to put together outfits will become a thing of the past!

As there is still a slight chill in the air and you’re not up for baring your legs just yet, wearing the cocoon dress with skinny jeans in another fresh colour, such as yellow, will make for a casual comfortable day option.  Throw on a denim jacket and pretty silk scarf to finish off the ensemble as well as a pair of bejewelled sandals for that delicate touch of glamour.

So although the sun seems to have gone back into hiding, there is no doubt it will return allowing street stylers a chance to bare their toes once more in some of this season’s trendiest sandals.  The understated heel heights and gorgeous mix of colours and designs makes for comfy shoe creations you’ll come to realise your wardrobe can’t function without.

Some sandals have been taken in a minimalistic direction for the season and can be seen in neutral or bold colour-ways minus graphic prints and an abundance of embellishment.  This clean fresh aesthetic makes wearing these designs a lot more practical.  Forget about towering stilettos too as it’s all about the demi-block heel at the moment!  This perfect height adds a contemporary feel to classic styles, building up mega trend points from shoppers eager for a spring shoe fix.

The skirts and dresses are coming out, gorgeous strappy sandals can show off your perfect pedicure and matching top and short combinations make for a winning spring look so will you dare to bare your legs now that the UK is being treated to spells of hot weather?  If these new season hero pieces have anything to say about that the answer will be yes!

As spring is well and truly here (keep your fingers crossed) it’s time to shop the best the high street and online stores have to offer for the season from fresh floral designs to cool denim updates and culottes, the answer to a skirt alternative, to bright zesty colours you’ll be caught up in a dreamy fashion haze from pure excitement.

It must be a challenge to reinterpret florals every spring/summer, but somehow designers and high street labels never fail to amaze and entice us with their never-ending botanical fashions.  3D blooms are taking centre stage at the moment and are your answer to beautiful embellishment and ornate detailing.

Many women may shy away from culottes, deeming them ‘uncool’ or ‘unflattering’ but these comfy style staples are actually rather appealing and will make a lovely fresh change from a skirt.  They’ve got huge style potential, so can be taken in a smart directional style for the office or will work amazingly well during hot sunny days.
