Add a burst of colour to your winter wardrobe by flaunting one of this season’s must-have colours – berry red. Celebrities such as Carey Mulligan, Florence Welch and, the style Queen herself, Victoria Beckham have been seen wearing this gorgeous shade effortlessly and you can too!
Berry red is great for the festive season and looks great worn day or night. The colour can be found adorning satins, silks and everything in between so you’ll be able to find an item of clothing which totally suits your style and body shape. Textured berry red pieces like faux fur, velvet, lace and sheer chiffon will give outfits depth and a luxurious edge too so why not do some fashion experimenting!
The rich tone of berry also clashes wonderfully with ruby, copper and chestnut shades so don’t be afraid that it might all be too much. You could even incorporate the 70’s and 40’s trend into the look by sporting a pair of wide leg trousers or a cloche hat.
A fabulous colour that any fashionista would be proud to wear – it really is a berry red Christmas!

I am a huge fan of Nicole Richie’s designer fashion label Winter Kate which consists of contemporary ready-to-wear pieces that has all us fashionistas swooning over! The collection is packed full of gorgeous statement dresses, kimonos and jackets that reflect Nicole’s personal style so why not add a few of these pieces to your wardrobe to give it a winter update?!
Keeping up with this season’s latest trends, velvets and flowing silhouettes are featured in the recent collection adorned with intricate embroidery and stand-out detailing such as fringing. The stunning deep shades are perfect for Christmas and New Year, which will add a luxurious flare to outfits. There is a definite bohemian style of the ‘60s and ‘70s that can be seen throughout the velvet designs too allowing the pieces to stay true to the brand’s overall signature feminine vibe.

Deciding on a New Year’s Eve dress is one of my favourite parts of the occasion! High street and designer stores have such a stunning variety of designs to choose from, all incorporating this season’s hottest trends. I’ve decided to go for a bit of sparkle this year and will be wearing a gorgeous bronze metallic dress from French Connection. What trend will you ladies adorn?!
Lace is a huge must-have for the season and definitely adds a feminine yet luxurious edge to dresses. You don’t need to be covered top to toe in this beautiful material – find the right balance for you. Experiment with different textures too. Embellishment and sequins are ideal if you’re after a bit of glitz and glam for New Year’s Eve. They make gorgeous statement pieces and will wow everyone in the room. Just make sure the fit is perfect and there is no baggy fabric as you don’t want to add bulk to your shape.

I have to admit – I love winter clothing. Wrapping up in gorgeous chunky knitwear to prepare for the cold weather is a little highlight of the season for me. Knits have come a long way over the years and have transformed into stylish, wearable designs and there are some hot trends in the high street and designer stores at the moment that are just pure must-haves for this winter.
Navajo knits are chunky, oversized and oh so cool – but not literally! These woollies are perfect for layering over jumpers and will definitely keep out the winter chill. Stripy knits are great at giving the illusion of curves and are a chic print alternative to wear to work. Go for a fitted design for a smart look or a slouchy style for casual wear.
Play around with texture clashing and wear your favourite chunky jumper with a leather skirt (fitted or flared!) to create an uber stylish day to night look. All you need to do next is team the outfit with a pair of sky high ankle boots and you’re good to go! If you want to take the whole chunky knits trend to the next level then wear it top to toe – double trouble at its best! Make sure not to completely drown your silhouette though – pair an oversized jumper with a knitted pencil skirt to balance your shape.
Plum is one of this season’s hottest colours to be seen in so why not choose a chunky knit in this must-have shade. The gorgeous deep tone gives pieces a luxurious feel. Knitted shorts are also a chic alternative to suit trousers this season. They look perfect teamed with opaque tights and a fitted jumper – say hello to your new winter work wardrobe!

Be on trend for this winter and invest in a circle cut style dress which is ultra flattering. Most designs will suit all shapes and sizes and they are perfect pieces which can be easily dressed up or down for day or night. High street stores are full of these must-have dresses and celebrities who have been seen sporting them include Kelly Rowland, Jaime King and Jamelia.
The rounded hemline adds volume and a sassy edge to the dresses whilst the nipped in waist cinches you in giving you a sexy silhouette and a lovely shape. Long sleeved, one shade styles are sophisticated yet still remain chic and adding a belt to the look will help you to achieve an hour glass shape. Contrasting panels will also help to enhance your waist and will provide a statement twist to your look which I love!
If you’re after a dress that will give you a neater silhouette then opt for one which is more structured and fitted with a zip-up back. For comfort choose a stretchy style. Add a cardigan to sleeveless designs if you’re worried about showing off your arms or maybe wear a retro blouse underneath.
The variations of styles and colours are endless and will be your go-to dress for the season!
