Australian fashion label Sass & Bide, I have to say, is one of my favourite designer brands.  The clothes are edgy, quirky, extremely stylish…and just slightly out of my price range.  But that does not mean I can’t admire the clothes from a distance right?

This brand has come leaps and bounds since being founded by Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton in 1999 as it was recognised for its unique and creative denim designs that all us fashionistas fell head over heels for!  Today it has two distinct ranges – sass & bide and S&B VIE.  Both collections offering gorgeous designs and funky, versatile styles.

The founders Sarah-Jane Clarke, aka sass, and Heidi Middleton, aka bide, first met back in 1992 at their school St Aidan’s Anglican Girls School.  Even they couldn’t have predicted how far sass & bide would go having picked up a celebrity following such as Fergie, Nicky Hilton and Hilary Duff.  Now I have always wondered where the name sass & bide came from, and it turns out it was created by combining both Sarah-Jane’s and Heidi’s nicknames.  Such a good idea!

If like me you are an arm candy addict then you are constantly on the lookout for a new leather BBF (Bag Best Friend) and let’s face it we want to be original about it. So here is the lowdown: the latest arm-mour to be flaunted by celebland are the creations of Novella Royale who has remarkably created a handbag collection from recycled vintage leather jackets, making them desirable not only for the eco conscious but for the fashion savvy too.

Sexily provocative and stylishly gothic is what you can expect from Kira Plastinina’s exclusive LUBLU Kira Plastinina Autumn/Winter 2010 range.  If you’re a confident woman wanting to make a fashion statement then these latest pieces are for you.

Strong, structured designs are mixed with draping ruffles, whilst different weights and textures contrast beautifully against each other.  Leather, lace and chiffon are all used to create exaggerated, yet feminine pieces that are creative and sensual.  A hint of sport-luxe can also be seen in the collection with the help of jersey, nylon and rubber fibre.  Visually each outfit is gorgeously enchanting in a darkly gothic vibe which I absolutely love!

The Autumn/Winter 2010 collection is made up of neutral shades such as nude, black and grey to provide versatility to the range as the array of different fabrics, like transparent mesh to dense leather, makes sure no outfit is similar but flows beautifully from one look to the next.

A powerful range of clothes with cinched-in waists, angular origami shoulders providing architectural silhouettes and rubber frills adding a feminine edge.

LUBLU Kira Plastinina has come a long way since being launched in 2008 and the AW10 Collection will be available to buy at Harrods, Knightsbridge late summer.

The prices range from £80 for a top, £150 for a shirt, £250 and up for dresses depending on the fabrics.

It’s true maxi dresses are gorgeous and they are back for a second round, swirling away in your mind along with the new leather sandal, and the cutaway bikini the maxi dress appears this season in a multitude of fabrics and prints from crisp white cottons, to flowery chiffons and denims. This should be enough to allow you to endure and get through the British summer without any doubt! However, if the desire to hit the high street is uninspiring then you should look no further than Noelle Adam, the Dutch designer who was named one of the winners of the Dubai Fashion Week’s Emerging Talent Competition in 2009, as she has now created her own amazing label. After working as a barrister in Amsterdam for ten years Noelle decided to pursue her dream and graduated from the UK Fashion Institute, with a Diploma in Fashion Design.  Noelle’s passion and creativity caught my eye when I had the chance to browse her extraordinary collection when I attended her UK press day at Sketch a few weeks ago. I managed to catch Noelle for a quick coffee and interview, here’s how it went.
