My latest fashion agony was all about helping a client of mine find a stylish laptop bag to accommodate their laptop for a new job they will be starting at the end of Jan. I searched high and low and I did find a couple of solutions but eventually the perfect answer fell into my Inbox. Bown contacted me with a super-stylish solution.

Dear Chantelle,
Happy New Year! ... and I am looking forward to further fashion news and blogs from you - I love reading them.
I am writing in need of your help ... I am changing jobs in a couple of weeks and I would like to treat myself to a new designer laptop bag. I am looking to spend a maximum of £500, I would like it to be a leather one, the only type of bag that I like and am considering at the moment is the Mulberry ‘Elgin’ bag in Oak. However, it is not a laptop bag, but I could just buy a foam case for my laptop and then pop it in?!
Anyway, as you can see this is a really little conundrum to me ... and I would love your help and advice.. please?!
New Year Love
Laptop bag frustrated xx

Dear Chantelle,
I recently discovered your website, and value your content for its smart advice and upbeat attitude!
As a petite pear (A cup, 5’4”), dress shopping is discouraging. No boobs, junk in the trunk, soft tum, thunder thighs. Worse, I have a smattering of mild acne on my chest, which makes even slightly more revealing necklines risky business, even with makeup. (Thankfully my arms, waist and calves are decent…I tend to suit size small/4-6 best).
Are there any dresses out there that are youthful/funky yet classy for a late twenty-something with post-puberty pimples? I just bought a classic black wrap dress, and have a lacy cami to layer/disguise underneath ...
I’d love to experiment and play with whatever is around!
Many thanks,
Lisa

Hi Chantelle,
Just came across your website, and I love all the advice you give for people with problem areas. Unfortunately, I seem to have them all!
Too big for flattering clothes in normal shops, too small for the smallest in plus sizes ... size 12,14, and too young for most of the serious, boring,
figure-fixing dresses (I’m 19). Anyway, I’m looking for a nice dress for a (very) semi-formal Christmas party - something cute and a little bit funky, but not with too much ... boobage.
My problems are: I have big boobs, but small ribs, which means most dresses sag there without serious altering ... It then flares into a serious stomach pouch and love handles ... the pouch I can sometimes find clothes to cover it, but even thick fabrics fail to hide the serious difference between the handles and the legs ... yuck ... I wear one of those girdles and it helps, but most dresses that cover my handles make me look very bulky? Any ideas for a perfect dress for my very imperfect figure? Thanks! Hope - by email.

Hi Chantelle,
I am looking for advice concerning the type of dress that would fit me best keeping in mind my body shape. I don’t know how you would categorize my body shape; I am 5’9’ and slender but wide. I have broad shoulders with a larger rib cage, a high waist and prominent love handles (that seem to give me another curve), almost no butt and slim but built legs. I am looking for a dress that would show off my slenderness while avoiding my prominent love handles.I love sewing my own clothes and would love to here any suggestions. Thank you for your time.
