Hi TopStylista,
I am attending a wedding in two weeks time and I’m struggling to find a suitable outfit, considering it’s the middle of Winter still. Having never attended a winter wedding I am unsure of the best option. I’m in my mid-twenties and the vast majority of guests will be similar age. I would like to look elegant but also warm!
I have found a beautiful silk dress that is an olive-green-light-grey colour. It is sleeveless with 1-inch wide shoulder straps. It’s quite floaty and comes down to mid-calf. My main concern is the weather.
Can you recommend anything to wear over the dress? What colours should I be looking for (bearing in mind I’m a redhead!). Also I’m not good in heels - is it ever acceptable to wear boots to a wedding?).
Any recommendations would be appreciated!!
Many thanks - C

Hi Chantelle,
I am writing with a holiday packing dilemma. My husband and I are going to Provence in early September for 11 days. We will be cycling around Avignon and the Vaucluse region, travelling between 4 hotels, carrying everything on our bikes! I have my cycling gear sorted, but I need to bring some items, casual sightseeing clothes for our non biking days plus some nicer evening outfits for dinner at night BUT, weight and space are at a premium, I will only have two rear panniers to carry everything! All of the hotels we are staying at offer a laundry service, so I can have my clothes washed, and I don’t have to bring toiletries other than makeup. I can’t wear any capri/cropped trousers, my legs are on the shortish side. Quick drying, machine washable fabrics would be helpful too. My cycling shoes can be worn as casual walking around shoes also.
Any suggestions?
Thank you!
Liz Austin

Hi there,
I’m off to Cuba for 2 weeks in January. I always have trouble with my holiday wardrobe, my size is 34-29-47 so I’m a very extreme pear shape, 5ft 7 inches tall with a long body and an inside leg of 30 inches. I do look in proportion and my top half is a size 12-14 and my bottom half is a size 16.
I can never seem to find a style that suits me and I always feel I look a bit mismatched and frumpy. On holiday our days will be spent on the beach or by the pool and during the evenings in and around the complex. Any ideas on how I can look a bit more stylish this year, your assistance will be much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Charlie x

Hey Chantelle,
I was just wondering what to wear to a wedding I am going to in December, which is just before Christmas.
I am about 5’8 and don’t really want to wear heels … I’m around a size 10-12, smaller on top with slightly larger hips and slightly broad shoulders.
I have brown hair, chestnut to hazel and it’s fairly long and straight. I want a nice dress that makes me look my best but I have no idea where to even start looking. Also, I’m a bit worried that it may be freezing so please could you also give me some advice on jackets/cardigans etc. that may go with the dress.
I have not got much of a budget so please make sure the outfit is not too expensive.
Thanks x

Hi Chantelle
I am having a winter wedding panic! My friend is getting married in November and I am really stuck for ideas.
I have long hippy-ish red curly hair, so colour-wise I tend to rely on blacks and greys, which makes wedding outfits difficult anyway! I’m not averse to colour, just find it hard to match my hair a lot of the time. I am a ‘straight-up-and-down’, size 8, so feel a bit silly in girly dresses.
These aren’t the real problems though - my cat had fleas a few weeks ago and my legs are covered in bites. Although we’ve got rid of them now, there is no way they’ll clear up in time to wear a dress. Can I wear dark opaque tights to a wedding?
The other thing that makes things difficult is that my boyfriend is shorter than me so I have to wear flattish shoes really otherwise the photos will look strange!
I can just imagine myself ending up in trousers and pumps and feeling very underdressed and I really don’t want to.
Please help me!
Jakki
