Hello Lidia,

I’m going to a wedding in May and have been trying to find something suitable. It in a very posh venue so I need something that looks expensive!

I’ve seen lots of lovely dresses around but alas I have shapeless legs and just cannot get away with it even with tights and very high shoes!

I am definitely pear shaped, size 10 on the bottom and 8 on top so all the wide leg and high waist trousers around at the moment make me look very bottom heavy.

I’ve been trawling the Internet, walking miles and miles around the shops but cannot seem to find anything to suit my shape or that caters for all weather prospects! I’ve a budget of around £250-300.

Any advice would be very much appreciated!
Chrissie

Help! I’m going to a wedding in the Scottish Highlands Easter weekend. While I won’t be required to go outside, so no worries about being too cold, I do have a lot of other, um, issues.

I’ve got 36D boobs, no waist, but quite nice legs and a reasonably small ass. I’m 34 and don’t want to appear as mutton dressed as lamb, but nor do I wish to look middle-aged. I am NOT girlie in any way and do not want to wear frills, flowers, pastels, satin or sequins. In any case, none of these things do anything for my shape at all. Finally, I’m going with a bunch of girlfriends to celebrate a dear friend’s wedding and am not there to pick anyone up or be picked up by anyone, so no cleavage or anything too short.

Short of wearing my work suit or a bin liner, I can’t think of a damn thing.
Can anyone offer any advice? I’m reaching desperation point!

Thanks
Alison

Hi Chantelle,

I have been invited to my very best friend’s civil partnership ceremony in October ... I know, I know it’s only January but already I am panicking!

I am roughly five foot seven, long brown hair, size ten on the top and a small twelve on the bottom ... the bridesmaids are wearing off white trouser suits and burgundy tops underneath so I think a trouser suit is out but I don’t want to be a screaming girly girl in a prom dress either!

The wedding is in a castle so lots of outdoor windy photos so I don’t want to be wearing anything that will blow open/up/off/down! I am getting myself totally confused and would love some help!

I think my budget can stretch to around £150-£200 at a push and as I am in West Wales it needs to be all internet available!

Please, can you help me?

Hi TopStylista,

I am attending a wedding in two weeks time and I’m struggling to find a suitable outfit, considering it’s the middle of Winter still. Having never attended a winter wedding I am unsure of the best option. I’m in my mid-twenties and the vast majority of guests will be similar age. I would like to look elegant but also warm!

I have found a beautiful silk dress that is an olive-green-light-grey colour. It is sleeveless with 1-inch wide shoulder straps. It’s quite floaty and comes down to mid-calf. My main concern is the weather.

Can you recommend anything to wear over the dress? What colours should I be looking for (bearing in mind I’m a redhead!). Also I’m not good in heels - is it ever acceptable to wear boots to a wedding?).

Any recommendations would be appreciated!!
Many thanks - C

Hi Chantelle,

I am writing with a holiday packing dilemma.  My husband and I are going to Provence in early September for 11 days.  We will be cycling around Avignon and the Vaucluse region, travelling between 4 hotels, carrying everything on our bikes!  I have my cycling gear sorted, but I need to bring some items, casual sightseeing clothes for our non biking days plus some nicer evening outfits for dinner at night BUT, weight and space are at a premium, I will only have two rear panniers to carry everything!  All of the hotels we are staying at offer a laundry service, so I can have my clothes washed, and I don’t have to bring toiletries other than makeup.  I can’t wear any capri/cropped trousers, my legs are on the shortish side.  Quick drying, machine washable fabrics would be helpful too.  My cycling shoes can be worn as casual walking around shoes also.

Any suggestions?

Thank you!
Liz Austin
